According to police and the Times Leader, the insane driver ploughed through a gathering outside of the Intoxicology Department bar and eatery in Berwick at about 6:15 p.m. as they were attending a benefit for those affected by a devastating tragic fire that claimed 10 lives last week.

Then, according to Pennsylvania State Police, the man killed a woman in Necopeck after assaulting her. Reporter Steve Lockner tweeted that the police scanner indicated the man used a hammer in the killing, though authorities did not specify the nature of the assault or provide any information regarding the location.

Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes, 24, was the suspect, according to Pennsylvania State Police. He was refused bail and is charged with two counts of criminal homicide.

Police said they would give a report on the case and that "investigations are quite active."

According to Trooper Anthony Petroski, all 17 victims of the automobile attack were hospitalised despite it being unclear how they were doing. As of early Sunday morning, the victims' identities had not been made public by the police.

According to WNEP, the motorist reportedly targeted a gathering that was taking part in a day-long fundraiser for the Nescopeck house fire victims, which claimed the lives of seven people, including three children.

State police in Pennsylvania reported that when a car struck a crowd assembled at a tavern to support those hurt in a recent horrific fire, at least one person was murdered and 17 others were hurt.

Four patients were in serious condition, and more than 15 patients were receiving care at Geisinger Hospital, according to a statement from the facility.

According to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Anthony Petroski, state police were summoned to the area of the Intoxicology Department bar in Berwick at around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday.

A car "drove through a throng at a community function," according to police.

Following that, a report of a man reportedly attacking a woman in adjacent Nescopeck County was sent to the police, according to Petroski. When the police arrived, a woman was already dead, according to him. Police said the man, who they claimed was a suspect in both crimes, was detained by officers.

Police have not released any information about the suspect or the potential charges. According to Petroski, detectives are figuring out whether the culprit drove into the crowd on purpose.

The police stated in a statement that "these investigations are highly active."

The Berwick-based Reliance Fire Company No. 1 reported that workers were responding to a "mass casualty situation" at the bar on Saturday night.

On Facebook, the fire department advised people to stay away from the area because the issue was still going on there.

A fundraiser for the families impacted by a fatal house fire that took place in Nescopeck earlier this month was being held inside the pub. The fire on August 5 claimed the lives of ten people, three of whom were children, however three adults were able to escape unharmed. Investigations are being conducted to determine what started the house-destroying fire.
